Sugar
Sugar, the musical based on the film Some Like It Hot, premièred on 3 February 2017 and ran throughout spring at Nöjesteatern.
The story takes place in 1929 when the bassist, one of two unemployed musicians from Chicago, witnesses a deal in the underworld where Spats Colobo rules. Jerry and saxophonist Joe are forced to flee headlong. Dressed as women, they get a role in a women’s orchestra on their way to Miami Beach. The one holding the baton is Sweet Sue. Sweet Sue’s manager and all-rounder Mr. Bienstock also comes along for the ride. Jerry becomes Daphne and Joe becomes Josephine. Both of them naturally fall for the band’s delightful vocalist Sugar Kane. But that mafia boss from Chicago is on their trail. He is hardly known for putting his fingers between his fingers. We also meet Jan Malmsjö who dresses up as the millionaire Osgood
The cast included Marianne Mörck, Sven Melander, Adde Malmberg, Birgitta Rydberg, Robert Rydberg and Kalle Rydberg.
