The Eddie Meduza Story
Ralf Gyllenhammar paid tribute to the King of Rock, Eddie Meduza!
At last, it was time for a high-quality tribute to the legendary rocker Eddie Meduza, also known by his real name, Errol Norstedt. Since his passing in 2002, Eddie Meduza had achieved cult status and was deeply loved by thousands of fans across the country.
The show The Eddie Meduza Story premiered at Nöjesteatern in Malmö on November 7, 2024, with one of Eddie’s biggest fans, Ralf Gyllenhammar from the band Mustasch, as the frontman.
Errol Norstedt had a multifaceted personality and was called by many a musical genius. In The Eddie Meduza Story, the audience got to follow his entire journey – from a bullied and rootless twelve-year-old, who had already lived in over thirty different places, to life as a celebrated rock star who broke audience records and topped charts while battling personal struggles.
Eddie Meduza was an artist who was often misunderstood. Many didn’t grasp the irony in his lyrics or that they were written with a wink. It took time, but eventually, Errol Norstedt received the recognition he deserved and went from being despised by representatives of high culture to being widely celebrated.
Errol’s songs were recorded in various versions by many other artists, including some of Sweden’s most popular dance bands – such as Lasse Stefanz.
The Eddie Meduza Story – Dåren ä lös was a wild and crazy show, and at the same time a heartfelt tribute to one of Sweden’s greatest artists. The show swung between laughter and tears. At its core were nearly thirty of Eddie’s most beloved – and controversial – songs, including “Gasen i botten,” “Reaktorn läck i Barsebäck,” “Ragga runt,” “Midsommarnatt,” “Volvo,” “Punkdjävlar,” and many more.
In the spring of 2025, The Eddie Meduza Story – Dåren ä lös went on a major Sweden tour, kicking off in Halmstad on February 14, 2025.
